About

I'm a freelance sports photographer based in Edinburgh in the UK.

Sport has played a big part in my life for as long as I can remember; I'm a competitive runner, a keen cyclist, and an occasional cricketer. I'm also a rubbish swimmer, and therefore only a wannabe triathlete! I run for Edinburgh Athletic Club and am doing my first marathon in November 2010.

For me the appeal of photographing sports like cycling is the challenge of capturing speed. As far as equipment is concerned I use a Nikon digital SLR with Sigma EX lenses.

Since last September I've been studying sports science as a mature student at Loughborough University, so now divide my time between Edinburgh and Loughborough.

For any questions, or enquiries about hi-res images or prints, please send me a message via the Contact page.

Finally this website is dedicated to the memory of Bernard Thompson, cycling photographer extraordinaire.
